Welcome back to Unbox the Inbox with me, your host, gary Redmond. On this podcast, you'll learn how to grow your online business using the power of free and mostly automated email marketing, and we'll hopefully have some fun doing it too. I'm a co-founder of BusterBoxcom and also a mentor and coach helping founders like me and you create their dream life through their online business. All right, so today I wanted to share with you something I'm actually really excited about, something that I've been building behind the scenes, about something that I've been building behind the scenes and something I think is going to help a whole lot of people in my network and in my audience to get better results from their email marketing and their business in general. So the big thing is, I'm launching soon a brand new community for business owners, online coaches and other people involved in online marketing who want to get better results from their emails. I'm doing it in a totally different way than I've done it in the past. Okay, so it's going to be built on school. Okay, and it's going to be free for everyone to join and to participate and to be a member and get access, and it's going to contain a full online course on how to create story-based emails that can get you clients for your business, and the reason I'm launching it the first people is to build a real community.
Speaker 1:Okay, like email is obviously what I do, but community for me is what builds long-term success and I have done some done-for-you email stuff in the past. Obviously, I've coached subscription box founders in the past, but I wanted to build a community of people where we can all learn and support each other and also to keep on top of the latest trends, of course, with email marketing, with AI, with all the things that are happening in the industry, and I wanted to really have a close network of people that I can obviously help and deliver my trainings, deliver my help and things like that, which I obviously do with this podcast and create more videos and other types of training and basically have somewhere that people can really consume it in a way that's easily accessible to them. So that's the first thing is to build a real community. The second thing is to help you and people get real results. So, rather than a social media page where you're just kind of posting random posts or even you know, email is great, but again, you know everybody reads your email by themselves rather than having a community of people where myself and other people can communicate together. So I wanted to have a focused place where people can learn, apply and ask questions and other people can can from the answers and then also just to give people a place. The third reason is to give people a place to learn and stay connected. Okay, because things change so fast and I will be putting up new trainings as I learn new things and as new things come out and new sort of challenges and opportunities are made available in the email marketing game. Okay, and like not just email marketing. To be honest with you AI, online business, making money online. I don't want to keep it too general, but, yeah, sure, look, there's a lot of things that happen, a lot of parts of an online business that aren't just email focused, but of course, that's my expertise, so I will be posting a lot of things about that and hopefully it will be helpful to you.
Speaker 1:The next thing I want to talk about is why I'm using school and not, for example, like a Facebook group. Okay, like, the reality is, facebook groups used to be great, but they're sort of dead. Now they're reaching them has completely died. I think I saw a stat there. Like 2% of people are even notified. You know it was a great thing about 10 years ago and as Facebook group was great. I managed to grow my group to about 2.2 thousand, if I remember correctly, and you know I had a great community and I made a lot of money from it and people were all happy to be in it. That's great. But nowadays the reason why it worked back then is because people used to get notified a lot and nowadays that's just not the case. So very few people see your posts and even group owners barely see any engagement unless they tag everyone. And, to be totally honest with you, I actually don't really even use Facebook that much anymore. I just kind of I don't know. I just kind of got off it. I don't know what it is. I still use Instagram quite a bit, but I'm just not really on Facebook anymore.
Speaker 1:So school so the reason why I said I'm using school is because it's a great way to keep people engaged. Everybody gets an email notification so they actually see what's going on and what's being posted in the group. Like if you want to join a community and you join a Facebook group and you never hear about it again, like it's not really gonna be very valuable to you, is it? Of course, you can organize your content. You can have direct messaging, you can have comments. We can all have a discussion in there as well. So in there as well. So that's another thing is really being able to communicate with people and actually having a discussion. So, yeah, basically what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to teach, but I'm also trying to connect. So I found like school was probably the best tool I could use for that.
Speaker 1:The next thing is what's inside this community. So I've got a free course in there, which is not fluff. It's the system that, the framework that I use to write emails that get clients and get sales, and it contains the fundamental of fundamentals of writing story based emails that actually get you sales. Okay, and my plan is to jump in regularly with new tactics, audit emails, answer questions if anybody needs, and to do live trainings as regularly as I can. I'm hoping at least twice per month is to come in and do a live training with with you guys and stuff like that, and also like get feedback from what like my content feedback, give feedback to you guys and collaborate and build some momentum together. Okay, when we're not doing things alone and we all get better results, okay.
Speaker 1:And another thing is just kind of, if you are a coach, if you are a consultant or you are someone, I'm just going to talk to you through about why I'm doing this sort of as a business strategy as well. All the things I mentioned are totally true as well, but I want to use this course as a lead magnet. Okay, I want to grow my community by offering this course for free and via my content, via my ads, and actually have somewhere sort of a ground zero for people to go to get more information and use it as a sort of a you know, a direct, a direct, a call to action for my content that I can direct them somewhere like here take my free course, you know, join my community. Here you go. The next thing is going to be a nurture system. So I want people to stick around for the community, the value that I provide, the conversations, and hopefully be able to see that I am an expert and be nurtured by getting free value and getting engagement and speaking with like-minded people in the community. So it's going to be a lead capture system and it's going to be, hopefully, a nurture system so people can enjoy the conversations and the free content. And obviously some people, 90% of people, 95% of people will just get great value from it and that's totally fine. And then there's that 5% of people who want more and hopefully they will, um, you know, become clients later on.
Speaker 1:The other thing is, you know, as you give people a free course and as you give people a community, it's, it's quite, can be quite a strong conversion engine. Okay, because you know, as people get a lot, all this help and they and they help, and there's only a limited amount of help that you can give to somebody via a pre-recorded video or even a live training in a group setting. Okay, people obviously will see the value, hopefully, of working with me directly, whether that's through a done-for-you system or through one-to-one. Those kinds of things will be. They won't be prominently displayed, but they will be available to people in the community as well. So, instead of chasing leads, I'm creating a way for them to be attracted to me through the free course, to be nurtured and create a place that they want to stay, and then they naturally. That naturally leads to the next step where people who who do want more help can get it and if no, someone doesn't. No hard feelings, and 90, 95 of I said online, when you're trying to do anything in this industry, you're going to have a lot of people for free and some people will pay you and that's totally, totally fine. So, yeah, that's just.
Speaker 1:I wanted to give you a quick rundown of what's coming. I'm working on it right now. I've been recording videos. I'm going to start to get the community set up very soon. Start to get the community set up very soon, excuse me, and um, yeah, I'm building this really to serve to teach and to connect with people who want to do email marketing right and want to get better results with their online business, who want to stay on top of trends.
Speaker 1:Uh, and basically, school gives me the tools to do that and hopefully I'm inviting you, as a listener to this podcast, to join the community and maybe next week I'll put together a waitlist page and you can be able to get first access to the community. Okay, I haven't done that right now, I just wanted to jump on and give you that. So, and keep your eye and ear out for that next week and when I can get around to getting the waitlist page together.
