I reveal a simple but powerful strategy to increase the visibility of your most important social media posts without spending money on ads. This quick tip leverages your existing email list to create early momentum for posts that might otherwise get buried by social media algorithms.
• Send a brief email to your list with a direct link to your important social media post
• Focus on driving engagement in the crucial first 30-60 minutes after posting
• Algorithm favors posts with early momentum and engagement
• Particularly effective for promotional content, testimonials, and posts with external links
• Works well with medium to long-form content that provides genuine value
• Use this strategy sparingly and ensure your content delivers on promises made in the email

Welcome to Unbox the Inbox with me, your host, gary Redmond. On this podcast, you'll learn how to grow your online business using the power of free and mostly automated email marketing, and we'll hopefully have some fun doing it too. I'm a co-founder of BusterBoxcom and also a mentor and coach, helping founders like me and you create their dream life through their online business. Okay, so today I have a quick tip for you, and it's going to be around how to get more eyes on your important social media posts. Okay, so the easiest way to boost the reach of your content without spending a penny on ads is what we're going to talk about today. So if you ever felt like you posted a great post and it died in the feed after 10 likes, then this one is for you.
Speaker 1:Okay, because when you post something important whether it's a story, a lesson, a new offer or, even better, like a client testimonial or proof Sometimes these can not be, you know, too well received by the algorithm, particularly if it's like a, you know, a testimony or a self-promotion thing. So what you can do as a quick tip is to take the post that you've just created and write an email to your list with a short note to the direct link. Okay, like, because, especially in the first 30 to 60 minutes like, if you can get some early likes, engagement comments it can massively boost the reach of your post. Okay, because usually the way algorithms work, the kind of posts that you want to be seen by a lot of people are not seen by a lot of people. Okay, if you want to post a promotional thing or know something around you know, obviously number one thing is, like, facebook hates when you put links to anywhere else, or instagram as well. If you put links anywhere else, it's notoriously known to like, kill all reach. Okay, so, like, the algorithm favors momentum. So what we can do in the first 30 to 60 minutes is to email our warm audience, which is our list, and you know you don't have to, obviously not to ask people for engagement, but you can basically say this is a valuable piece of content and I'm giving you a reason to go and check it out, and that will help to push it in the algorithm. So the reason why this works is because pushing engagement onto your posts early helps it to be seen by more people.
Speaker 1:So how do we do it? It's very simple, okay, I usually just write a one or two line email. Like you know, you can write a preview Like this is something I wish I knew earlier in my journey. I just dropped a story about this, or you know this, this revelation really changed my client's life, and go ahead and read it here. Okay, obviously, you can ask, you can add a PS if you want to ask for a reply or a share. You don't want to do this too often unless your content, unless you are obviously paying there is a payoff to your content.
Speaker 1:Okay, so don't just say this is a really interesting story and it's not like it's the, you know, it's a way to you know you should always be congruent with what you say in your email and don't send people off just to give you a boost in the algorithm. But, um, you know, if you have a content that actually educates people, um, you know, or you know really, really offers an insight or a story that's really going to resonate with your, with your target audience, it's always a good idea or a tip that you can do to send them to your social media posts to boost it. Of course, you can just send these stories and stuff to your list and you probably will do that as part of your sales emails and your story-based emails, but it's also a useful sort of tool in your toolbox to basically be able to send an email to your list and, just you know, send them to your social media posts and where they may or may not engage, or you may incentivize them to engage or whatever. Okay. So, again, to be used sparingly. I suppose, like you know, you don't want to overly have people jumping through hoops to get access to the insights that you give. Also, it works quite well if you do sort of medium to long form content.
Speaker 1:On YouTube, you might see this a lot. But even on Instagram, if it's a valuable reel and it's something that's going to actually help them, it's a good way to boost the engagement when you start. So that's pretty much it for this week. It's just, your great post shouldn't go to waste, I want want to say, and you can use your email list to amplify your reach and get get to see my more people, okay, so if you're interested in getting more simple strategies like this, you can join my school community where we go deep on using email and content to build a freedom-based coaching business.
